But there has been little written on South Australian poetry beyond back cover blurbs. Heart of the Matter fills this gap, shining a light on the literary phenomenon that is South Australian poetry.

Eighteen emerging and established poets are interviewed and their work reviewed. Heart of the Matter also gives a bibliography of their major publications.
