These exercises can be done as stand alone exercise, or used as warm-ups to doing Tai Chi Chuan. Most agree came from the Chen family village, China. Developed centuries ago with the intention: improving internal chi & maintain excellent health. These exercises or movements are based on the concept of the circle. The idea of the circle and the natural circular range of motion of one's body, and at the appropriate ability for the individual doing each specific exercise or movement. In doing these exercises some consider it to be a method to retrain or remind the body, mind, and spirit connection by unifying and linking or connecting in all things and ways of moving our bodies.
Best of all, requires little space & can be done practically anywhere. This book is to supplement a series of videos by the author.
The author believes there is a wealth of knowledge behind these exercises.
About the Author:
Paul began his formal training in martial arts in 1991 with Master F.J. Paolillo.
In addition to silk reeling qigong, he has studied Chen style tai chi chuan, northern praying mantis, snake, dragon style baguazhang, various Shantung weapons such as: double-edged sword, broadsword, staff, spear, cane, kwan do, and other internal Taoist arts. Paul received permission from his "Sifu" to teach and has taught numerous tai chi and qigong classes since 1995.
Qualified by his Sifu F.J. Paolillo & by Grandmaster Pui Chan's authority he was a Tournament Official as a competition judge in kung fu, Chinese weapons, and tai chi at the Tournament 2000 International Kung Fu Championship in Orlando, Florida. This competition is now known as the International Chinese Martial Arts Championship (ICMAC) established 1998.
