Johnson and Robert Kennedy which allowed him to be present for Kennedy’s infamous speech the night Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed. Drafted in the U.S. Army in 1944 at the age of 18 while stationed in France when the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima the first city targeted by a nuclear weapon, and later on Nagasaki.
