This collection of images over the centuries brings to light some of the people, events, and institutions that made Watervliet New York an important and early manufacturing center in the Capital District. This third volume presents the Watervliet Arsenal, an Army-owned and operated manufacturing facility located in the northern part of Watervliet. The arsenal is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations during the War of 1812. Many old timers and family members will remember working at the arsenal and have stories to tell. For some it was the center of their life.
