Charlotte Posenenske: The Same But Different

Astrid Wege,Burkhard Brunn,Jessica Morgan

Charlotte Posenenske began working from the early 1950s as an artist anddesigner. During the 1960s she developed a seminal body of constructivist related drawings, sculptures and sculptural installations that heralded, along with artists such as Donald Judd, the development of minimalism. This publication documents two key exhibitions which ran concurrently at JohnHansard Gallery (Southampton, UK) and Konrad Fischer Galerie (Dusseldorf, Germany). Both exhibitions included paintings and drawings, steel wall-basedstructures and the unit-based site specific constructions for which she is perhaps best known.
