A revised and updated edition of this guide has been prepared as a result of the positive response from industry to the original 1988 book. The second edition takes into account the significant amount of new data on the subject, together with input from users of the first edition. A PC disc is included in the package which covers material discussed in the section dealing with seal function and design. The disc facilitates the review of seal proposals and is an aid to diagnosing service failures.
