There has recently been a major increase in interest in the scientific development and management of turf and grasslands for sport and amenity, and this has been reflected in an expansion of education in this area at universities and colleges. This book is aimed at students taking courses in turf science and sportsground management, landscape and recreation provision, and amenity horticulture, and should fill a significant gap in the literature. It will also be useful for professionals concerned with the management of playing fields, golf courses, horse tracks and parks, who wish to update their current knowledge.
