Lots of Leaves: Learning the L

Our phonics-based series PowerPhonics features nonfiction books that teach facts while incorporating the fundamentals of phonemic patterns and usage. Aimed at readers in grades K-1, this collection of books reflects grade-appropriate subjects from the K-2 curriculum. Strong curriculum corollaries for these early grade levels ensure that each title offers information that teachers will find useful not only in phonics instruction, but in the children’s general instruction as well. Each book also contains an instructional guide for an adult to use with the child while reading the book. The instructional guide explains the phonic sound being emphasized and presents activities that the child can do to help reinforce this sound.
