Saint Martin de Porres (Ess)

Dominican Brother Martin was only a humble friar in Peru –but this gentle saint used his healing gifts to care for people of all races and nationalities. He served his fellow religious as a barber and infirmarian, and was in charge of delivering food to the poor people who came to the doors of the Dominican house. He founded an orphanage and a hospital, and tended to the sick around the city of Lima. This timeless story teaches children the value of humbly serving others.
