Throughout These Forty Days We Pray

In a world where one is often rushed and fragmented, this book offers the opportunity for a more deliberate personal spiritual journey through Lent by praying with the assigned readings for this liturgical season.

The idea for this book grew out of the author’s series of Good Friday lectures based on the Seven Last Words of Jesus as recorded in the four gospel accounts. This work has been expanded to include reflections upon each of three Lectionary cycles during the Sundays of Lent along with a consideration of the readings for Holy Week, the Sacred Triduum, and Easter Sunday. This Lenten resource is designed both for clergy preaching preparation in this liturgical season as well as individuals who might use this book for personal meditation.
