This book contains papers presented at the October 1989 NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Black Sea oceanography. This workshop included the first international presentations of research results from the 1988 U.S. Turkish Oceanographic Expedition to the Black Sea. Comparison was made of the Black Sea with other anoxic marine environments.
