The Chaperone

Sophy Hadlow does not want to return for another London Season. Her owndebut into Society was marred by her self-consciousness about her excessiveheight and her cringing embarrassment every time she was announced as 'TheLady Sophronia Hadlow'. Yet, much to her dismay, Sophy is back in London tooversee the debut of her youngest sister and their wild cousin, SusanTyneham, who risks ruining both her own and her innocent cousin's chances ofmarriage. Sophy, a most reluctant, novice chaperone, is left to guide her sister andattempt to keep Susan from complete disaster, all whilst dealing with her ownunexpected feelings for the roguish Lord Rothley.
