What had Neil Robinson been about to tell journalist Jamie Dale? Whatever it was, it got them both killed, and now Alec and his DCI, Martin Travers, are called away to help with the investigation.

Jamie had been a friend of Naomi’s before she left Pinsent to pursue her career. They had lost touch, but now, with Alec gone, Naomi is harassed by phone calls seemingly from the dead journalist. Alone and very disturbed by it all, she turns to her old friend, Harry Jones, and his son, Patrick, for help.
