The Long Weekend

This title is from the well-loved storyteller. It is New York, 1961. A group of old friends, who had known each other during the war, plan a reunion dinner. It is Al Rogers’ birthday, and another of their number - Ron - is in the city for the Broadway premiere of his play. They were all, at one time, involved in the arts and entertainment - Holly, Al’s wife still writes pot-boilers whilst caring for their baby son, but Al himself has had to put his dreams of writing a ‘big’ book on hold.As they gather together and make plans for the reunion, the one-time friends and lovers reflect on the past, and ponder on what they’ve accomplished - or haven’t. Ultimately they come to the realization that you can never give up on your dreams. Without dreams, nothing is left…
