Garrett Darrs, the double-take handsome owner of one of New York City’s poshest galleries, decides he’ll not seduce his new artist, no matter how beautiful and unique. Carmen is, after all, a friend of his playboy brother, and that can only mean a passionate history, and one likely riddled with trouble. She does have a fiery socialite sister, Sophia, who is much more his type, and who is just the lighter fare he thinks he needs. Carmen, enchanted by Garrett and their shared love of art, is devastated when she learns of Garrett’s affection for her sister Sophia, but that sisterhood is one she cherishes and won’t let anything, not even Garrett’s piercing eyes, get in the way of their bond. She wills herself to focus feverishly on painting, making sure that when she debuts at his gallery she will sweep the night away, stun the swanky town with her talent, and then leave Garrett to his sister. Doubtless, she would forget him. Doubtless.
