As he settled into bed with his favorite book, Gary thought he had heard a noise. He listened intently for a moment. Dismissing it, he went back to his book. The boat’s rocking on the waves, the birds’ talking and all the other noises that comforted him, took over. Gary began to fall asleep. Just as he was dropping off…he definitely heard a noise! Then he heard footsteps on the deck of the boat. Shanghaied… This is the story of a young man named Gary Jones. As a teenager he is shanghaied from his family’s boat. He is taken to Mexico where he has to escape his captors and find a way home. Along the way he decides to take a detour and do some growing on his own. About the time he decides to continue his journey home, his fate is changed, when he meets Jillianne. Then tragedy strikes! Just when he feels his life is over, new adventures begin.
