Snowflakes: and other stories

In Snowflakes and Other Stories, Allison’s first work of fiction, he explores the timeless themes of love, forgiveness and tragedy with deftly drawn characters and a healthy dose of humor. Like many a great fiction writer, the author drew on his own experience for many of the characters and storylines.
My Father’s Day is a glimpse into the relationship Allison held with his father, founder of Tollgrade Communications. In the title story Snowflakes, the protagonist sustains injuries suggestive of real events during Allison’s teenage years. Other stories including For Want of a Fine Burgundy and The Trades venture into mystery and science fiction, while Man’s Best Friend is a poignant portrayal of the healing power of friendship, both two-legged and four-legged.
