Ten years after 2,977 Americans died on September 11, 2001, the outrage has dissipated and Americans are looking for ways out of a Middle East slipping back into medieval chaos, no longer a proving ground for the American Way. Tribal warlords and religious fanatics flourish as Western powers lose their appetite for state building. Walter Morrison is an old-fashioned patriot with a plan to rekindle American commitment.
