Nightbreaker

On the verge of High School graduation and aging out of foster care, all Valerie Zeta wants is to blend in and move on. But after her foster mother is brutally murdered, Valerie learns that neither her future, nor her world are as simple as she imagined them to be. For not only do the undead prowl the dark spaces of the Earth, but she, as a Nightbreaker, may be the only one with the power and the will to stop them. Now, in a race against time, Valerie and her new mentor Warren must chase lore and legend in pursuit of an ancient evil: The Mantle of the Dragon. And though Valerie meets each challenge with rising strength, it may not be her ability to endure that is tested, but her resolve to make difficult choices-and live with the consequences.
