The world beyond the domes is inhospitable and the impoverished living within the domes are mostly neglected, left to fend for themselves in a largely lawless neighborhood. There is a platform city within the dome, Losantiville, where the eltie-wealthy live detached from interacting with the lower class. There’s is the life of utter luxury and excess.
