My Son the Petunia Patch is a two-fold story: the one written on the pages, and the back story - the special connection of the author and illustrator.

The story written on the pages is about a litte boy who had only one flaw - he did not like to take baths. His frustrated mother comes up with a plan to change that. As is often the case in raising a child, patience is key. Learning valuable lessons in life take time.

The author and illustrator first met in a second grade classroom. Blair recognized a special artistic talent of her seven-year-old student, Caylin Jayde. After several years, when Blair wanted to put the words in her mind onto the printed page, she considered who might make the story real. Her former student, presently in college studying fine arts, Caylin was excited to bring Bubba to life.
