With examples from popular literature and the movies, as well as other accounts, the book helps readers to engage with issues of interpretative theory. Next, the author considers different readings of the Gospel of Matthew, showing how reader-response theory works out in practice, and concluding with an extended study of one passage from Matthew’s Gospel - the story of the Magi.
