Professor Bluntbrain was the brainchild of Tasmanian schoolboy artist Des Conrades. It was originally published in the South Australian children’s comic magazinePacific Pictorial in the 1940s by Lush Studios.
Reprinted in this volume for the first time, the strip had an antic youthful humour which could be considered somewhat ahead of its time, pre Mad magazine and the Goon Show.
This collection contains all eight complete Bluntbrain stories and colour images showing the front covers of the now scarce comic books they were sourced from. There is also a fond introductory essay giving some personal insight into Des Conrades himself, a man as colourful and comical as his creation.
