Driving south to Mexico from Vegas, behind the wheel of a 1950s classic, Wolf stumbles headlong into a series of events that would change his life, and that of others, in unimagined ways. Amidst the revelry of the Dia de los Muertos festival, an encounter with otherworldly beings sets him on course into the Sonora desert and a remote gas station run by an American expat family of misfits.

Two distractions keep Wolf from journeying further south: an elusive, missing piece for his car, and also a mysterious, beautiful Nordic woman who lives out back of the gas station. In this desert refuge of relative calm all is not as it seems. Taken by the woman’s charm and seemingly far-fetched stories, Wolf begins to wonder what exactly he is getting himself into.

With growing tectonic anomalies and other unusual events Wolf’s life is thrown into chaos. Soon malevolent adversaries enter into his world that make his previous worries seem tame by comparison. But then things get worse. Much worse. Along with a crazy new bunch of friends and soon allied with diverse mythological forces, Wolf is thrown into an unfolding event of cosmological importance.
