The book tells a story of how two young sisters discovered their family’s values. Their learning process was based on the family coming together to write a list of things they all considered they ‘should do’ and another list of things they ‘shouldn’t do’. When the lists were prepared they were placed on the door of the kitchen refridgerator to act as ongoing reminders. As the children grew older they added new things to the lists, which then helped guide them through life as they became adults.
