Harry Goes Rowing

For children ages 3-8 years old. Philadelphia’s history of rowing and Thomas Eakins paintings have inspired this children’s story about Harry and his horse friends from the carousel who are learning to row. When the Coach asks Harry to be the cox and steer the boat, Harry is not happy. He thinks the Coach chooses him only because he is small. In a dream he meets Will who tells him that the cox is very important because he or she wins or loses the race. Harry listens and learns how to be a cox who wins.
