Life Lived in Small Moments is an eclectic collection of 27 essays and observations, all written between mid-March and the end of August during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. For the author and many of us, each day began as it did the day before and would duplicate itself the following day as well, reminiscent of the film Groundhog Day. The title of this collection revolves around a concept of particular importance to Dr. Elkun-that life is made up of small moments. As individuals, it is important that we embrace and cherish those everyday moments that make us feel both alive and vital. This is especially true when we are in living in challenging times, such as a global pandemic. The huge moments in life-those of great acclaim, great success, or outstanding productivity-are few and far between.
