This is the story of Jabez, an eleven-year old drummer boy who lived during the French and Indian War. Jabez lived with the men and women who built the town of Buxton, Maine. This is the tale of their participation in the Revolutionary War and the battles that they fought. Their story is one of humor, sadness, loss, patriotism and victory.
