This volume includes the coverage of the first four generations of families that was previously covered and adds coverage for the complete fifth generation families.This compilation is an attempt to provide as complete information as possible of the descendants of George Abbott and Hannah Chandler including complete families through five generations and all of the children that comprise the sixth generation. This includes coverage of more than 1,200 complete families. Both the male and female lines are included so there are many Chandlers, Holts, Ingalls, Fryes, Blanchards, Ballards, and many more names. Within these pages you will find the full range of human behavior: individuals with great accomplishments, those with humble, ordinary lives, and those who faced incredible hardship and tragedy. There are personal struggles including poverty and reliance on almshouses for subsistence, out-of-wedlock children, and persons who wrestled with alcoholism, depression, and other mental illness. There are also Harvard graduates, attorneys, physicians, and clergymen. There are women pioneers persevering in the face of tremendous challenges. There are the first settlers of many communities in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and upstate New York.
