A great read for young adults and adults.Action filled murder mystery. The Audacious Ghost Adventures of Phineas A. Pennypacker is an action packed story of the hunt for King John’s treasure which went missing in the 1200’s and has been hunted by many throughout the ages…be they dead or alive. Not a sliver of light peeked through the angry black clouds and it was entirely up to my horse, Atticus, to keep us upright on that slippery, muddy road ‘cuz the blinding rain was pouring down upon us blocking out everything 'round about. I could hear the wraiths coming up fast as poop going through a goose and I could tell my Atticus knew it as well. His thundering steps bore a sense of urgency and my heart was beating faster than a war drum. My ears were keen to the sounds of the wraith horses’ hooves hammering the earth like spikes being driven into railroad ties and I knew the hounds of Hades were upon us! Black storm clouds shot bolts of fire and sulfur, striking the earth with vengence as the fields along the trail caught fire, sizzled and sputtered loudly as the buckets of rain vanquished their chances of spreading. Then the sweet smell of the salty sea reached my nostrils and I knew shelter and safety was just around the corner. Leaning forward, I urged Atticus to push a bit harder in our effort to escape. -Phineas A. Pennypacker-
