Sometimes we don't look and we find things. We are busy being ourselves. We are enjoying the breath we breathe with the words we hear and share. Everyone around us is a part of us. We smile and talk to strangers as if they are friends we've known since birth or before. The moment is complete and there is no other reason to look for anything else. There are no wants to fulfill. Our needs are met. We hold on tightly to what we have, afraid it may slip out of our hands if we do not. Eventually, our hands become comfortably numb. We no longer can feel what we are holding and often forget what it is we are holding or why we are holding so tightly to begin with. We open our cupped hands to look at what we have and they are empty. We had let whatever it was we thought we wanted to hold so tightly and keep for ourselves, slip away. It fell on the ground somewhere while we were busy holding it. It is not until what we want is lost that we may realize it's what we need.
