Tracers in the Ocean

Tracer distributions can provide information about the general circulation of the ocean that cannot be obtained in any other way. This book describes how modern chemical techniques are providing maps, not only of ocean currents, but also of mixing processes. The air-sea transfer processes are also outlined and the uptake by the oceans and the gas transfer characteristics of C02 are discussed.
