Fire on the Coastal Road

It’s the height of the Lebanese Civil War. Opposed Christian/Jewish and Arab militias threaten to make the Middle East a furnace. Then Egypt declares peace on Israel, shattering Palestinian dreams of a homeland unless it’s reversed. PLO/FATAH military leader Abu Jihad sees his life’s work and his personal power about to evaporate and sets his killers loose. Israeli security is in disarray with a bitter political conflict between the Special Forces of the army’s Sayeret Matkal and the police’s Yamam. Abu Jihad strikes on the Shabbat and it’s left to a few off-duty soldiers and poorly armed traffic policemen to defend the civilian population, as the terrorists rampage south towards vulnerable Tel Aviv.
