Feminist Review Issue 72: Drugs

Is the war on drugs a gendered war? Is the use of recreational drugs a version of liberation for women? How do the policies of the pharmaceutical companies affect the lives of women worldwide? Are the practices and paradigms of the drug industry still based on male norms? Do medical interventions in fertility and menopause improve or damage women’s health and well being? This issue brings together the work of feminist scientists, activists, artists and medical professionals in order to shed light on the role of both prescription and illegal/ recreational drugs in women’s lives.
