Reda Issa is born in Dublin, brought up in Ghana, comes from Lebanon and lives in London. 10 years ago on March 30th, 2007, Reda was in a car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury that left him in a deep coma for 2 months. At a time when his survival seemed really bleak, Reda woke up from the coma having to learn how to walk and talk all over again. But he came back with a gift. The gift of seeing reality through another perspective and the talent for writing, which he cultivated over the years. These two godsend gifts are what make his poetry unique. This collection of poems main theme is all about how someone can express and celebrate their individuality in the modern world of globalization. The Light That Shines is every single person and the magical spirit within them. The Prism is the world and the common reality we share. This book is for every person who has ever felt lost, stuck or alone to remind them of the light they have inside.
