The Kinks are an English rock band formed in Muswell Hill, North London, during 1964 by brothers Ray and Dave Davies, widely regarded as one of the most important and influential rock groups of the 1960s. The band emerged during the height of British rhythm and blues and Merseybeat, having briefly been part of the British Invasion of the US until their touring ban during 1965, due to constant fighting between the brothers.
