The book forms part of our revision of Plutarch’s histories in Penguin Classics, which will also include The Fall of the Roman Republic, Rome in Crisis, The Rise of Rome, The Age of Alexander and Plutarch on Sparta. The lives examined include Theseus, Solon, Themistocles, Aristides, Cimon, Pericles, Nicias, Alcibiades, and Lysander.
