Melanie Hava was born into an interesting and diverse culture, her father comes from Enns the oldest city in Austria and her mother from one of the oldest cultures on earth, the Aboriginal people of Australia. Whilst Melanie celebrates her Austrian heritage she also identifies through her Mother’s culture, a Mamu Aboriginal woman, Dugul- barra and Wari-barra family groups from the North Johnstone River catchment of the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland and the adjoining Great Barrier Reef sea country. Melanie’s work is influenced by her diverse cultures and her experiences in the outback, rainforest and reef country.
