Butlers fourth album proper is surely the most hotly anticipated\nAustralian release of 2004. Remaining fiercely independent in the\nface of a major-label bidding war, he continues to define new\npossibilities for the guitar/bass/drums format. Despite planing off\na couple of the rough edges and lending the songs some concision,\nthe musical energy and lyrical passion remain undimmed. The awesome\nfinale, Sometimes shows they can still stretch out, recalling\nmiddle-period Zeppelin for grandeur and intensity. Blurring the\nlines between acoustic and electric, rock and blues, improvised and\ncomposed, this is unclassifiable except perhaps as ENERGY\nMUSIC.
