Martha Argerich and Itzhak Perlman. What a combination! Each of them has been recognised for more than 50 years as a supreme musician. Following the success of their first studio album together ‘Schumann, Bach, Brahms’, Warner Classic are releasing the album as a 1 LP on 180g black vinyl (including digital download code). Both Argerich and Perlman have recently celebrated landmark birthdays. Argerich, who turned 75 in June 2016, has recently been described by Gramophone magazine as “unquestionably one of the greatest pianists of all time”. When Itzhak Perlman turned 70 in August 2015, Warner Classics saluted the occasion with the release of The Itzhak Perlman Edition 1971- 2002, a monumental 77-CD collection. The extent of his achievement bears out the words of conductor and pianist Daniel Barenboim: “It is quite impossible to imagine today's violin heritage without the absolute musical genius of Perlman.”
