Brahms Symphonies 4cd

Barenboim Staatskapelle Berlin

This is the first orchestral recording from Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal and includes masterpieces within the symphonic repertoire. It took Johannes Brahms fourteen years to complete Symphony No. 1 which was premiered in 1876. The Fourth Symphony was premiered nine years later in 1885. This is a very strongly driven, impressive and dynamic recording set under Maestro Barenboim’s baton. The Staatskapelle Berlin is also one of the finest and oldest orchestras around the world, founded in 1570. Under the helm of Maestro Barenboim, the Staatskapelle “capture every nuance and colour of everything they play” (Sydney Opera House) and this Brahms recording is no exception.
