Our top selling book for last week was James Halliday Wine Companion 2016, which is keenly anticipated each year by winemakers, collectors and wine lovers. Halliday has been publishing this annual overview of Australian wine since 1986 (though it’s only been entitled the ‘James Halliday Annual Wine Companion’ since 2000) so we personally consider it an Australian tradition here at Readings!

Halliday is followed by Harper Lee with Go Set A Watchman, her hotly-debated sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird. It’s the book everyone is talking about, including ABC’s The Book Club, who discussed it just last night. You can listen to their thoughts here.

And Tim Winton takes our third spot in the bestsellers list with the exciting announcement of a new memoir to be released in late September. In Island Home: A Landscape Memoir, Winton explores how the Australian land has profoundly shaped the nation, as well as influenced his own life and writing.

Other top sellers also include three colouring books – Emma Farrarons’ The Mindfulness Colouring Book and two books from Millie Marotta, one with tropical wonderlands and one with an animal kingdom.
