Our top ten bestsellers of the week

  1. The Coal Face by Tom Doig
  2. The Guy, the Girl, the Artist and His Ex by Gabrielle Williams
  3. Dear Life - On Caring for the Elderly (Quarterly Essay 57) by Karen Hitchcock
  4. Falling in Love Donna Leon
  5. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
  6. One Life: My Mother’s Story by Kate Grenville
  7. The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro
  8. We are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler
  9. The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan
  10. Stoner: A Novel by John Williams

The top two bestselling books this week both recently had terrific launches, at our Carlton and Hawthorn shops respectively. The Guy, the Girl, the Artist and His Ex also happens to be our young adult book of the month, and we’re proud to say its author, Gabrielle Williams, is a bookseller at our Malvern shop.

The Girl on the Train continues to be popular (deservedly so, says our digital marketing manager who has just finished reading the book). Karen Joy Fowler’s We are All Completely Beside Ourselves and Richard Flanagan’s The Narrow Road to the Deep North are both proving to be unstoppable forces, continually popping up in our bestseller lists over the past year. If you haven’t read them yet, you should!

Finally, Stoner: A Novel by John Williams is selling well this week, in part due to our popular 3-for-2 Vintage Classics promotion.
