Our top sellers for the past week include four biographies and memoirs, all written by women.

In Mannix, Brenda Niall tells the story of the former Archbishop of Melbourne, a towering figure in Melbourne’s Catholic community while in Girl in a Band, Kim Gordon is completely open about her experiences as a founding member of Sonic Youth. Rebecca Starford’s memoir of bullying and boarding school, Bad Behaviour, is already an established favourite with Readings staff this year (read our in-depth interview with her here) and Kate Grenville’s intimate account of her mother’s life, One Life, looks set to become one too.

(We’re also excited to be hosting an event with Kate Grenville in a few weeks about this new book. Find out more here.)

Our list also includes some time-honoured older favourites: Richard Flanagan’s The Narrow Road to the Deep North, Karen Joy Fowler’s We are All Completely Beside Ourselves and Elena Ferrante’s My Brilliant Friend.
