The first volume of Barack Obama’s presidential memoirs landed with a bang this week, racing to number one spot on our bestsellers list, followed by the newly-crowned winner of this year’s Booker Prize for Fiction, Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart (everyone was so enthusiastic about Bain’s blistering debut novel set in 1980s Glasgow that we are now out of stock - with more copies arriving in mid-December).

Don Watson’s Watsonia: A Writing Life was also new this week and embraced enthusiastically. This comprehensive anthology contains a wide-ranging collection of articles gathered from across Watson’s very full writing life.

Beyond the winner’s dais we have hard-hitting crime fiction, cosier crime, a blockbusting cookbook, and the follow-up to Rosalie Ham’s wildly-popular The Dressmaker.
