On Sunday our Hawthorn shop hosted the launch of What Do You Wish for?, a new picture book from Jane Godwin and Anna Walker. Even if you’re not ready to start thinking about Christmas, we’ve discovered that it’s simply impossible to not be charmed by this sparkling, heartwarming tale. Another bestselling picture book from last week is Pierre the Maze Detective, which nearly made our reviewer’s brain explode as she attempted to solve the intricate mazes inside.

Last week also saw the release of two much-anticipated releases, both of which have made our bestseller list. The wonderful Rick Riordan delved into viking mythology with the first book in a thrilling new adventure series, Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer. And the new illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone is so beautiful; every time we turn a page there’s something new to exclaim over.
