A fun counting picture book tops last week’s list of bestselling children’s books. Found in Melbourne covers local landmarks such as Luna Park, the State Library of Victoria, the Shrine of Remembrance, and Puffing Billy, and it’s also available in a simplified Chinese edition.

Other bestselling children’s books include a funny and big-hearted middle fiction novel from comedian Sammy J (The Long Class Goodnight), two junior fiction titles from the wonderful Anh Do (From Nerd to Ninja, Messy Weird!), and the sixth A Murder Most Unladylike mystery from Robin Stevens (A Spoonful of Murder).

YA readers are still snapping up copies of Becky Albertalli’s Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, now also a film called Love, Simon. If you’ve already read and loved this book, then make sure you look out for the sequel, Leah on the Offbeat, which is due to arrive in-store next week (30 April).

And we’re very happy to see OzYA author Erin Gough’s second novel included here: Amelia Westlake is a charmingly subversive feminist romp.
