It was a big week for children’s books, with two book launches at Readings Kids that were very well attended. Our top spot goes to the debut middle grade novel by CBCA President, Karys McEwen, which was launched on Tuesday night to great acclaim.

In second place is our May Children’s Book of the Month by Readings’ staffer Fiona Hardy, which was launched on Saturday.

The Heartstopper series is still going strong, reflecting great interest in the origin stories of the charming Netflix series.

Other May new releases that have made it into the charts include the latest Real Pigeons book, the latest in David Walliams World’s Worst series, and the beautiful new middle grade book by Zana Fraillon, written from a dog’s perspective. You can read our review here.
