Adam Goodes continues his excellent run in the top spot this week, with his beautiful and important picture book about connecting with First Nations culture and acknowledging the past. Hot on his heels is the debut YA novel by local author Vanessa Len, which was launched online at Readings this week. This is a thrilling fantasy novel about monsters and monster hunters, with a protagonist who discovers that her family are the monsters, not the heroes of the story.

It’s wonderful to see the non-fiction picture book by author of Fire Country, Victor Steffensen, that explains the basics of cultural burning to 5-10 year-old kids, with a compelling story and stunning illustrations.

We are currently in the middle of Lunar New Year celebrations, so it’s timely to see a picture book featuring Maisy the mouse celebrating this vibrant cultural festival in our bestselling titles this week.
