This week, Adam Goodes’ book for young children debunking the idea of ‘terra nullius’ returns to the top spot on our charts. It is followed by the hilarious new picture book about a very cheeky cockroach, who hitches a ride to school, with surprising consequences. This is the follow-up to a story where the same cockroach crashes a birthday party. We highly recommend both for fun read-alouds.

It’s lovely to see Karen Foxlee’s latest novel in the bestseller list this week. Foxlee won the Readings Children’s Prize a few years ago with her middle grade novel, A Most Magical Girl, and her new book was described by our reviewer, Dani Solomon, as ‘a magical story about facing your fears and finding the courage to share.’

It wouldn’t be school holidays without the need for lots of activity books to keep the kids busy. Luckily, there is a brand new Bumper Fun Book from the masters of hilarity, Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton, that is keeping plenty of kids amused for hours, along with the latest math activities book from well-known mathematician Adam Spencer.
